Today I bring you a magical, mystical, fun fairy inspired makeup look. This is perfect to wear while flitting around your flower garden, casting magic spells, or just on one of those days you need an extra dose of fantasy.
To complete the fairy transformation we will be using:
Revlon lipstick number 668 Primrose, NYX eye shadow in the color Spring Flower, NYX eye shadow in White, Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in Yeyo, NYX lip liner in 848 Flower, EcoTools eyeliner brush, eye shadow sponge, Urban Decay eye shadow in Ecstasy, and Sephora eye shadow in Armelle number 32.
I know this seems like a lot more products than my last tutorial, but no worries, the steps are very simple. If you would like to substitute your own products you will need: a baby pink lip liner and lipstick, candy pink eye shadow, white eye shadow, white eye liner pencil, bright purple/lavender eye shadow, and a softer purple/lavender eye shadow.
Next, apply the softer purple eye shadow to the hollow between your eyelid and the bottom of your brow bone. I find this step easiest with a crease brush or my fingertip. If I am using my fingers as I did today, I simply use my brow bone as a guide. You can play around with this step a little and find out what best suits your eye shape. If you don't do it perfectly at first don't get discouraged. It may take some practice but this works in many different make up looks so it is worth learning!
Apologies if this step is hard to see from my picture, but the look works best if the color is faint.
Now, highlight the remaining area between your soft purple shadow and your eyebrow with the white eye shadow. This softens and blends the colors, as well as giving it a bit of an ethereal quality, which I think works well for fairies.
Lastly for your eyes, line under them with your pink eye shadow. You can certainly use an eye pencil if you have one in this color, I only use shadow as a personal preference. The purpose of the pink is to warm the overall look. I find the look too sharp (if that makes sense) once the whites are used. Also, I strongly suggest using a primer or base if you are lining your eyes with shadow, otherwise it will not stay on very long.
For a little shimmery pixieness, apply the white eyeliner to the inner corners of both of your eyes, blending them with the white shadow on top and the pink underneath.
I like to use a pink lipstick because like the pink eye shadow it will make the colors warmer. Lip liners are very useful in keeping your lipstick on and ensuring it doesn't bleed.
Here is the finished look:
Note: I have naturally rosy cheeks but if you are a bit paler a soft pink blush would compliment this look nicely.
If you are going for a full fairy look I would recommend a wispy romantic hairstyle, some silver shimmer, and of course a set of wings! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Have fun with it!
xoxo
